Who Are We?
Hazardous Journey Productions is an independent production company based in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our work spans broadcast, digital platforms and education.
Guided by curiosity, our focus is on exploring the human condition and the complexities of the world around us, with the aim of sparking reflection, challenging perspectives, and contributing to more hopeful ways forward.

What Are We Missing?
2026

An eight-part independent documentary series exploring the systems and issues that shape modern life, from criminal justice and healthcare to technology, climate change and more. Each episode examines a different part of the world we’ve built, guided by curiosity and a desire to better understand how these systems function and issues affect us, and how they might evolve. The series aims to create space for reflection, conversation, and a more hopeful way of thinking about the future.
Asking questions about the world we've built
Combining short-form video storytelling with clear easy-to-use facilitation guides, we developed and launched The Informed & Empowered Programme, now used in over 300 schools nationwide, to give schools a practical, engaging approach to online safety.
Alongside this, we created Parenting 101 in an Online World, a companion series supporting parents, whānau, and caregivers to confidently navigate the digital landscape with young people.
